Jamie Ohmenzetter and her partner Jason Embree were looking for a sign to help them choose the location for their new business. ¿When my grandmother¿s old house became available in Summerland, we both knew this was the sign¿ the good omen¿. ¿We knew we wanted to open our own coffeehouse, but it was a risk and a leap of faith for us to both leave our full time jobs to pursue our dreams¿, explained Jamie. It is a true ¿coffeehouse¿ in every sense of the word. Having grown up in the town of Summerland, Jamie watched the area carefully, and when Coffee on Kelly went up for sale they knew it was the sign they were looking for. Coffee on Kelly, a house which had been converted into a coffee shop, was the very location where Jamie¿s grandmother had once lived. Jamie and Jason, both classically trained chefs dreamed of opening up a speciality coffeehouse and had been looking at potential locations throughout the Okanagan. we had been looking for. We both really felt this was a sign of good things to come.¿ After a year and a half in business, Jamie and Jason decided it necessary to make the shop truely their own. After extensive renovations, redesign and renaming, Good Omens Coffeehouse was born and a Grand re-Opening was celebrated on February 20th, 2010.
